4800 Indian Head Highway; Oxon Hill, MD
The stone, which has been repositioned, usually sits on the east side of
Indian Head Highway, about 25 feet southeast of the intersection with
Southern Avenue SE. Note that the National Register of Historic Places
incorrectly states that the stone is northeast of the intersection.
In April 2024, the stone was toppled but not damanged (although its
protective fence was) during a car accident. The stone is temporarily at
the D.C. Department of Transportation.
